Amy Ku'uleialoha Stillman's Notes

Beauty is all around.

Tia, Daniel and I learned this growing up in Hawai`i, sheltered by mountains and ocean, embraced by trade winds, cleansed by the rains, nourished by the fruits of the `aina, heirs to the legacy of Papahanaumoku--Earth Mother.

Beauty is always being created anew. Artists are visionary, for they offer always changing ways of seeing and hearing the world around us, and they are heirs to the legacy of Wakea--Sky Father.

Beauty also comes from within. Relationships with loved ones call forth inner beauty and warmth. Beauty softens and refines; beauty also strengthens.

Beauty is a gift of grace. No matter what challenges life throws at us, beauty is part of the grace of enduring.

This collection of songs celebrates the beauty in the relationships that are meaningful to us. We hope that they may also offer the grace of beauty to you, dear listeners. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________

There is no grief in the light misty rain, only anticipation and fortitude to carry on as if every day were a new beginning. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________
